Goal
Objectives of the study

A One-Week Academic Writing Course for 13–17 Year-Olds

Students learn how to plan, structure and organise an effective essay.

Programme

The programme

Essay writing is one of the most important academic skills, yet it is often one of the hardest to master. During this intensive programme, students spend an entire week developing the techniques, confidence and independence needed to write effective, original essays.

With 30 hours of tuition, supported by guided assignments, reading and homework, students receive continuous coaching, detailed feedback and repeated opportunities to practise. Rather than relying on templates, they learn how to structure ideas naturally, think critically and develop their own written voice.

The course combines tutor-led workshops, individual coaching and practical writing exercises, allowing students to make measurable progress in just one week.

  • Programme Content

    Throughout the week, students will:

    • Learn how to plan, structure and organise an effective essay.
    • Build strong introductions, coherent main arguments and convincing conclusions.
    • Develop vocabulary and learn to write in a more precise, sophisticated academic style.
    • Practise different forms of writing, adapting style and tone for different purposes.
    • Complete regular writing tasks under both guided and timed conditions.
    • Receive personalised feedback to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
    • Improve editing and proofreading techniques.
    • Complete independent reading and written assignments to reinforce classroom learning.

Activities are adapted to students' individual needs while maintaining a strong focus on practical application and continuous improvement.
