OISE offers language courses for young people in English, Spanish and German.
The language courses designed by OISE adapt to the level of each young person who wants to further develop their skills. Each course allows participants to develop individually, regardless of their starting point, and thus gain a comprehensive understanding of the chosen language.
English courses for young people aged 13 to 17 take place in Newbury, a charming, typically English town near cultural centers such as London and Oxford. Older teenagers can also participate in a language course in Oxford or Cambridge, available from age 16, depending on their personal preference. German courses are offered in Heidelberg, a picturesque city in southwestern Germany, where you can explore the castle, the historic city center, and the captivating surrounding countryside. Young people wishing to improve their Spanish can do so at OISE in Segovia. Segovia is a beautiful city in northwestern Spain, renowned for its two universities and its well-preserved Roman monuments, which attract visitors from all over the world.
From the moment of arrival, the young people are supervised by trained staff. This high level of responsibility for the young people is maintained throughout the courses and only ends when they pass through security at their departure terminal. Supervisors are on-site around the clock to attend to the young people's needs, support them, and make their stay as pleasant as possible. This allows the young people to learn in a safe environment and take a significant step towards independence.
During their language course in Newbury, England, the students stay at the Newbury Hall residence. In Germany and Spain, the students stay with host families. Residence accommodation is also available in Spain during the summer.
OISE prides itself on offering intensive courses that, unlike traditional language courses, focus on developing lasting skills and demand a high level of commitment from the young people. Lessons during the language trip are followed by self-study, and free time can be spent as desired. Weekends include rest periods, excursions, workshops, and other activities.
