Education

The Summer School program in Ireland is a 23-hour/week language course. It offers a variety of courses and activities to help students excel in language.

The classes are made up of a maximum of 8 students who are divided into groups of the same level.

Programme

Irish Culture and History: This course provides students with a better understanding of Irish history and culture. They study the events that have influenced Irish history. Some of the themes of this course may be: Gaelic, Irish myths and legends, St Patricks, Irish literature.

Cultural excursion: Wednesday afternoon is devoted to an excursion during which students can use their knowledge of English. This allows them to use language in a concrete way.

Projects: the opportunity to be creative and work in a group is presented during this course. It allows to develop team spirit, listening, with the final objective of creating a presentation, a video report, or a blog on a defined theme.

English in context: This course allows students to analyse the use of the English language, with audio, video or written support, and to reuse knowledge in a concrete way in context.

Portfolio: each student has a personal portfolio. This "portfolio" helps the teacher and student to measure progress and acts as a support during individual coaching sessions. Students also use their personal "portfolio" for self-assessment, as well as to define personal objectives.

Activities & weekends: OISE offers a program of activities during the week and on weekends to ensure that students get the most out of their language stay.

Why do this programme?

This programme is perfect for a first language stay in a context that can be less stressful for some students than in England (same currency, school very close to the airport). A stay in Ireland can also be an opportunity for students who have already left with OISE to discover a new place and a brand new programme.
