OISE London’s aim is to give students the skills and confidence to become eloquent communicators in English. One-to-one tuition as well as coaching in small groups of no more than 4 participants are designed to stimulate and drive students towards their goals and to encourage them to reach their full potential. By challenging the traditions of language learning, OISE courses go beyond expectations to offer an opportunity of true significance to each client. OISE London caters to students aged 18 and above and is popular with executive and professional clients in particular.
City of unrivalled opportunity, world capital of fashion, finance, arts and entertainment, host to some of the world’s best universities and most innovative design colleges with a diverse international community; London provides the perfect setting for ambitious students and executives to thrive.
The smart, light and airy boutique training centre in central London spans five floors with glass and wood throughout that has been carefully designed with different learning 'zones' to suit the innovative classes and approach to language learning at OISE. The training centre boasts a penthouse café area with stylish furniture and rooftop views where students can network with students and tutors between classes.
The inviting entrance foyer leads down into the basement via a spiral staircase where a lecture theatre and debating chamber can be found, as well as the computer suite. On each floor the glass panelled classrooms lend to the school's positive study environment, and are complemented by break out areas with comfy seating for private study and video conferencing booths with wifi throughout the building. The result is an environment which not only supports but enhances the learning experience.
OISE’s Tutorial™ Programme engages students in one to one situations with experienced tutors. This allows the learner to focus on their individual needs and interests so that it is both relevant and meaningful at all times. This leads to accelerated learning and increased confidence in a range of professional or academic situations. Learners are not restricted to one tutor but have 3 or 4 specialist teachers throughout the day so that they are exposed to a wide range of teaching styles, regional accents and specialist knowledge.
The Tutorial course can be combined with lessons in small groups on the Integrated Tutorial Programme, allowing the learner to also benefit from peer discussion, social interaction and presentation skills.
The Quatorial™ programme is an excellent way for students to develop their confidence and performance skills in English. By working together in small groups (2 - 4 students) with learners of a similar age, level of English and professional or academic background they are able to negotiate course content with their Tutors each week. This ensures that students only study what is relevant and necessary for their future development and that no time is wasted on topics or language that they will never need.
The daily timetable is designed to by expose students to a range of lesson types and methodology and comprises 22.5 hours per week in Quatorial lessons (max. 4 students) and 5 hours per week of Spoken Assertiveness Workshop (max. 8 students). The overall focus is on communication and presentation skills so that students leave the course feeling both more confident and empowered on return to their workplace or study environment.
The Quatorial™ can be combined with Tutorial sessions to further polish the student’s language.
The social programme at OISE London is designed to give students every opportunity to experience the best that London has to offer in a culturally enriching way and promotes the use of English in everyday situations. Activities range from walking tours of London to attractions such as Covent Garden, Big Ben, the London Eye and Chinatown, meals in local restaurants, visits to the National Gallery and Tate Modern.
Discounted tickets to see West-End musicals and theatre productions are arranged at the training centre. Weekend excursions to popular destinations such as Stonehenge & Bath, Canterbury & Dover, Oxford, and Cambridge are also available.
