The OISE Summer School is located in the beautiful countryside of the South Cotswolds in Gloucestershire, situated between Oxford and Bristol and approximately 170 km from London
The nearest town Stroud, is just 5km away. Stroud is set at the meeting point of five streams and rivers, which flow along five valleys then onwards to the River Severn. It is home to one of the highest concentrations of artists and craftsmen in Britain.
Wycliffe is set in 54 acres of beautiful private grounds, with excellent sports facilities including a double sports hall, tennis and squash courts, and rugby and football pitches. Our school has its own theatre and enjoys state-of-the-art classroom facilities.

Accommodation
- In the student residence, accommodation is in small dormitories and twin rooms.
- Meals are provided in the school dining hall. Special dietary requirements can be considered and a vegetarian option is always available
A typical day at OISE

| Morning programme 09.30 to 13.00
|
The morning lessons are designed to develop accuracy in the language and cover:
• 09.30 to 11.00 – the grammatical structures of the language – vocabulary building
• 11.00 to 11.30 – morning break
• 11.30 to 13.00 – formal comprehension training exercises – structured expression training exercises: essay, presentations, explanations.

| Lunch is taken at the school in the form of salads or a hot meal. |
| Afternoon programme 13.45 – 15.15
|
Afternoons are devoted to workshops designed to encourage fluency and a spontaneous use of the language:
• guided debate practice
• presentations
• exchange of ideas and experiences
• active listening practice
• letter, memo, note writing |

To relax after concentrating on language learning pupils take part in games and sports activities; the range of which will typically include:
• team games such as football, cricket, volleyball
• sports games such as tennis or squash

• photography
These group activities encourage pupils to make new friends. |

Laundry
A laundry service will be provided for students. Although bed linen is provided in the student residence, students are asked to bring their own towels.
Clothes/sports equipment
Students are recommended to prepare for good and bad weather and bring enough warm clothes. British summers are not very predictable! Students should bring suitable sportswear, whitesoled footwear for sports halls, swimwear, towel and a sports bag.
