information
The OISE Summer School is situated in the heart of the beautiful Cotswold
Hills in Gloucestershire, known for its unique limestone-built heritage,
situated 55km from Oxford and 150km from London. The nearest town, Cirencester,
is just a few kilometres away. It is a picturesque and unspoilt
market town dating back to the Roman times. Cirencester offers an
excellent range of social and cultural attractions, including a good range
of shops and leisure activities.

Accommodation
- Rendcomb College is set in extensive grounds
with excellent facilities including an outdoor swimming pool and its
own sports hall.
- In the student residence, accommodation is mainly
in single rooms but dormitories sleeping up to 5 students are available.
- Meals are provided in the school dining hall.
Special dietary requirements can be considered.

| Morning programme 09.30 to 13.00

The morning lessons are designed to develop accuracy
in the language and cover: • 09.30 to 11.00 – the
grammatical structures of the language – vocabulary building
• 11.00 to 11.30 – morning break • 11.30 to
13.00 – formal comprehension training exercises – structured
expression training exercises: essay, presentations, explanations.

| Lunch is taken at the school in the form of salads
or a hot meal. |

|
Afternoons are devoted to workshops designed
to encourage fluency and a spontaneous use of the language: •
guided debate practice • presentations • exchange
of ideas and experiences • active listening practice
• letter, memo, note writing |

To relax after concentrating on language learning
pupils take part in games and sports activities; the range of which

These group activities encourage pupils to make new friends. |

Laundry
A laundry service will be provided for students. Although bed linen is
provided in the student residence, students are asked to bring their own
towels.
Clothes/sports
equipment
Students are recommended to prepare for good and bad weather and bring
enough warm clothes. British summers are not very predictable! Students
should bring suitable sportswear, white-soled footwear for sports halls,
swimwear, towel and a sports bag.
