Intensive German courses in Heidelberg

OISE intensive German courses in Heidelberg provide an effective structure in which to make optimum progress. The nature of OISE Heidelberg courses as complete immersion experiences helps to maximise the contact time with the language.

OISE Heidelberg is located on the top floor of a smart, modern building. Its unique feature is a beautiful roof terrace which offers breathtaking views of Heidelberg's impressive skyline. At breaktime, students take their coffee out on the terrace to enjoy views of the spectacular castle and the surrounding countryside, or relax in the comfort of the modern, sleek interior: an ideal place for an intensive German course.

The City

Situated on the river Neckar, Heidelberg is regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Its picturesque setting has captured hearts and minds for centuries and many of the world's most famous writers, poets and philosophers have been inspired by its landscape and architecture. Goethe himself was said to wander the romantic gardens of Heidelberg Castle, and the Philosophenweg (Philosophers' Walk) along the banks of the Neckar is one of the most spectacular scenic walks in Europe.

Heidelberg University is the oldest in the country and amongst the most prestigious in the world. Internationally recognised as a centre of scientific excellence and a driving force in research, Heidelberg is twinned with Cambridge in England, a similarly hallowed seat of learning.

The similarities do not end there: Heidelberg is a compact city, easily explored on foot, and is a centre of cultural diversity. Open-air orchestral concerts are a particular favourite with locals and tourists alike, and often take place in the magnificent castle grounds.
