Learn French in Paris

OISE intensive French courses in Paris provide an effective structure in which to make optimum progress. Courses at OISE Paris are complete immersion experiences, thus maximising contact time with the language.

Nestling in the heart of some of the world's finest educational institutions, the school occupies the ground floor of a traditional 1920s building; it successfully marries elegant period detail with a stylish modern interior. It is situated in the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank close to St. Germain des Prés and only 400 metres from Montparnasse, a vibrant and elegant area of Paris, ideal for taking an intensive French course.

The City

Paris is a city of unparalleled cultural diversity, a city of love and literature, of majesty and history, of relaxation and refinement. Whether you explore the labyrinthine Louvre, the sophisticated shops or simply sip a grand crème in one of the city's chic street cafes, Paris has something for everyone.

Paris boasts a monument to mark every step in its colourful history. From the Gothic splendour of Notre-Dame (which marks the site of a former Roman temple) to modern masterpieces, such as the Grande Arche de la Défense, (a symbol of the city's thriving cultural and commercial interests), Paris is a happy marriage of the traditional and the contemporary.

Paris defines and divides itself by its famous river into the Left Bank (rive gauche) and the Right Bank (rive droite). OISE Paris is located on the Left Bank between the quintessentially Parisian park, the Jardin du Luxembourg, and the enchanting jazz cafes and curiosity shops of the Latin Quarter.

We are committed to making each student’s stay as pleasant and culturally and socially enriching as possible to complement their linguistic coaching. Each week, the school offers a varied cultural programme composed of 3 activities to enable students to discover the cultural wealth that Paris offers all year round.

The teachers regularly organise guided visits of the historical quarters, including le Marais, the Latin Quarter, Montparnasse and its artists, Montmartre, and Haussmann’s Paris.

There are also excursions and visits to monuments and museums, such as Notre-Dame cathedral, the Orsay museum, the Pantheon and Carnavalet museum. In  fine weather, OISE Paris organises a boat trip on the river Seine which allows students to view many of Paris' famous monuments.

Students at OISE Paris can also learn about French gastronomy by tasting cheeses and regional desserts, not forgetting the introduction to oenology and the traditional French-style breakfast. These are privileged moments that will give students the opportunity to get to know the other OISE students and teachers better, and to practise their French.
