Sherbourne Priors is set in a Victorian country mansion just a few miles from Shakespeare's birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon. The OISE Center in Sherbourne Priors offers excellence for those looking for the very best for their children, both from an academic point of view and from the point of view of accommodation and comfort. Thanks to the recent renovation of the site, every aspect of the school and its surroundings is now tailored to ensure the utmost safety and wellbeing of the young learners. The villa is surrounded by a magnificent private park and offers spacious en-suite rooms as well as rooms shared by two or three children. The school boasts a splendid dining room in which in-house meals are served for the children every day as well as two light living rooms with views of the garden. The children also have access to an ideal recreation room for games and activities set with pool tables, dart boards and more.
All the staff and faculty at Sherbourne Priors are highly qualified and selected along strict guidelines to fit the high OISE standards. With members of staff living on campus at all times we ensure 24 hour supervision and safety.
With both educational seriousness and innovative learning approaches tailored for their cognitive ability the curriculum offers children a valuable first step in learning English. The focus of the course lies very much on building confidence and precision in the young learner at an early age, through a supportive and international environment. The teaching methods and course content is constantly monitored and updated by an active OISE academic board according to cutting edge research and the particular needs of the students. This way we can ensure high standards and make sure that each student gets precisely the attention and language support they need to make rapid progress and achieve excellent results.
Classes are held both in the morning and in the afternoon, in international groups of up to 8 children per teacher. The selection of the groups takes age, nationality and level of English into account to ensure that the classes can deliver the maximum benefit for each child. Thanks to individual attention given to each student we guarantee a program that corresponds directly to the needs of the child and pushes their potential.
In the late afternoon and evening, the children will participate in various recreational activities. All the social activities we offer are considered an integral part of the course: in fact the children have an opportunity to improve what they have learned through speaking English in class and with their classmates through these games and activities. This enables them to assimilate the language very quickly and trains their cognitive understanding of the language on multiple levels. All recreational activities are carefully supervised and particular attention is given to the type of activity based on age and skill. All activities take place in English.
