Each week, OISE Paris organises an afternoon excursion to a quarter of Paris with which the students are not familiar. This not only adds a cultural element to the course but also allows the students to discover new areas of the city.
Yesterday we walked around the oldest quarter of the city, Le Marais. We learnt about Lutèce, which was the Roman town upon which Paris is now built and also the belle époque period when Baron Haussman transformed Paris into the city of light. We spoke about the myths associated with Paris, the different architectural styles of the city , the regions of France and the rich culture and traditions associated with each one.
Paola, Tatiana, Valentina, Doncha, Rico, Marina and Nedezhda all returned inspired and enchanted by the city of light, by France and most of all by the French language.
