The two IELTS module types:
The overall test examines listening and speaking skills as well as precise written and reading English skills. The average test takes between 2.5 and 3 hours in total.
IELTS Preparation with OISE
OISE offers an intensive six-week IELTS preparation course in the summer holidays for anyone between the age of 14 - 17. With 6 hours of lessons per day in small groups of maximum eight students per tutor, each participant will experience a steep and effective learning curve towards a successful exam completion at the end. This is an ideal setup for both beginners and advanced English learners.
The programme principally focuses on the different sections of the IELTS exam. The aim is to transmit the necessary tools and abilities so that each young learner will be able to master all levels of the exam with ease (including exact time management during the exam). Previous exam papers provide key teaching resources during the course enabling participants to feel confident and secure in the exam material.
Furthermore the programme is accompanied by a diverse social programme for all participants. The mixture of sports and cultural activities gives the students an additional opportunity to practice their English in different contexts. The course finishes with the official IELTS exam on the OISE premises.
This intensive IELTS preparation programme is offered in OISE Folkestone and OISE Newbury. You can find more information about the course, accommodation and travel here.
