This year OISE Badminton operated a ‘house points’ system to encourage speaking English outside the classroom. At the beginning of the course, we were all allocated to one of eight possible teams, each named after a British city.
All houses were made of a mixture of nationalities, so we had to communicate in our common tongue – English! Points were awarded for good work in class and for winning quizzes or afternoon activities. The week’s winning house was announced each Friday and as a prize the team received access to a ‘VIP area’ at the end of course disco, as well as takeaway pizza!
