Oxford is well-known for its university, as well as for language learning. However, quite often, students who have been away from home for some time crave their local cuisine. Well, if you study at OISE Oxford, you can have your cake and eat it! Because of our excellent location, you’ll find a wide variety of international restaurants within walking distance. Here are some of the places our students are nuts about:
Serving over 150 dishes from a number of national cuisines, including Italian, Indian and Japanese, Cosmo takes you on a gastronomic journey to discover the authentic flavours of the world.
“Delicious food and very good service!” (Turki, Saudi student at OISE)
Located right next to the Carfax Tower in the heart of Oxford, Fernando’s serves typical Brazilian food as well as traditional British dishes. If you don’t have a lot of time, but want to avoid fast-food chains, Fernando’s is an excellent option.
“Quick service, ideal for lunchtime!” (Christian, French student)
Tucked away down St Michael's Street, the Nosebag is a relaxed, canteen-style eatery serving generous portions at reasonable prices. Vegetarians, vegans and carnivores alike are sure to find something on their varied menu to tickle their taste buds.
"Good range of cuisines and not too expensive!" (Haruna, Japanese student)
Greece Greek Taverna
This delightful family-run Greek and Mediterranean restaurant is located on the vibrant Cowley Road and serves many hot and cold Meze dishes, salads and traditional Greek favourites. Our Turkish students were particularly happy to find the food was similar to the meals they enjoy back home.
‘’Really beautiful restaurant and wonderful food!’’ (Nermin, Turkish student)
Edamame prides itself on serving only authentic Japanese food. The setting is casual and friendly, and their Sushi night menu on Thursdays is a big hit with our students.
“Warm and friendly atmosphere!” (Noemi, French student)
